Welcome to Leaves of Love, a limited edition series in support of the Vrinda Valley community hall project at Sacred India.

Leaves Of Love is inspired by the trees of Vrindavan as Sacred India artist Jagattarini Dasi explains.

“When I first arrived in Vrindavan many years ago, I wanted to deeply belong in the culture. I was advised by local wisdom keepers to pray to the trees, who sit in meditation all over this mystical landscape, and who are said to unlock deeper and deeper layers of its sacred significance.

I followed their advice and spent time with these ancient beings, and for the years that I lived there, I was blessed with a deep appreciation for Vrindavan, and a growing hunger to know more.

When I eventually returned to Australia with my family, my connection to Vrindavan remained strong in my heart, but my sense of relationship with the trees moved somewhat to the background of my busy life.

Then last year, on my first trip back to Vrindavan after the pandemic, something extraordinary happened. As if by chance, the 108 leaves that make up this project came to me. The leaves are all incredibly smooth and symmetrical in shape. (watch the video for full story)

I was inspired to decorate each leaf with the iconic “password” for Vrindavan, the sacred name of “Sri Radha”. Each leaf has become an inner portal to the mystical interior of this magical place.”

Each of these signed miniature works is unique, and features a hand-decorated leaf from Vrindavan, beautifully set on a canvas background. All colours and patterns are inspired by the people and culture of Vrindavan.
